In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Museo De La Salle (MDLS) recently hosted “Gabi ng Pasasalamat at Pagpapahalaga.”
This gathering followed the theme “Timeless Tales, Boundless Future,” which honored the museum’s rich history while looking toward the future of preserving Philippine culture. Key attendees included donors, benefactors, past and present members of the MDLS Board of Trustees, administrators, and various partners.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Palitera Heritage Award to the late Br. Andrew Gonzales, FSC, accepted by his nephew, Brother Augusto Marcelino Gonzales III. The prestigious award, inspired by the Philippine’s Pineapple Palitera, symbolizes sophistication, craftsmanship, and hospitality—values that reflect Br. Andrew's legacy in education and nation-building.
Br. Francisco "Sockie" de la Rosa VI FSC, DLSU-D President, recalled Br. Andrew’s founding of the Museo.
"Because of you [Br. Andrew], the Museo continues to inspire, connect, and enrich communities,” said Br. Sockie.
“As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to fostering a space where the past and future thrive together," he added.
The event also introduced two upcoming MDLS initiatives: a Charity Dinner and Art Auction, featuring the works of DLSU-D alumnus and visual artist Fred Agustin, and El Circulo, the official support group for MDLS volunteers. These projects aim to further strengthen MDLS’s reach and its commitment to art and community.
MDLS Director Mary Ann Salvador expressed gratitude to all involved and reaffirmed their commitment to shaping future generations.
“With heartfelt thanks, we look forward to another chapter of meaningful engagements and cultural stewardship together,” she said.
As the museum looks ahead, its 25th anniversary serves as a reminder of its mission to honor the past and inspire future generations.
