DLSU-D recently hosted the first regional internationalization forum on SDG titled “Embracing Global Connections through SDGs.”
Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement and External Relations (OVPGEER), the event gathered over 100 leaders and stakeholders from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across CALABARZON.
The event was attended by presidents, vice presidents, internationalization officers, and students from various CALABARZON HEIs, with DLSU-D President Br. Francisco “Sockie” de la Rosa VI, FSC, delivering the opening address.
The forum focused on integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into internationalization strategies. Keynote speakers included Dr. Rogelio T. Galera Jr., Director of CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO), who discussed the regional direction for internationalization, and Dr. Laurene Chua-Garcia, Vice President of External Relations and Internationalization at DLSU-D, who emphasized the university’s integration of SDG practices.
Dr. Christian George Francisco of OVPGEER expressed excitement about the forum’s role in advancing regional internationalization.
“By aligning our efforts with the SDGs, we are not just building global connections; we are building a more sustainable and equitable future for all,” Dr. Francisco said.
The event highlighted the universities' collective commitment to enhancing internationalization and laying the groundwork for future partnerships in CALABARZON HEIs.
