
DLSU-D students secured two major awards at the recently concluded ASHRAE Student Convention held at the University of Santo Tomas.
Chynna Ysabelle Brugada, Naulty Jaen Jr., and Eldwin Matthew Villanueva won the “Best Oral Presentation” award at the HVACR National Research Competition for their research, An Introduction of Hybrid Air-Conditioning and Solar Power System to the University Chapel of De La Salle University - Dasmariñas.

Additionally, Brugada, Jaen Jr., Villanueva, Christian Jaron Sampan, and Rann Arren Virlet De Chavez won the Decarbonization Challenge National HVACR Design Competition, claiming the champion title and a P50,000 cash prize for the same research. These achievements underscore the innovative impact of their work in HVACR.
Previously, ASHRAE-DLSU-D clinched first place at the ASHRAE Gala Night Competition in December 2024, highlighting the chapter’s excellence in both academic and creative endeavors.
