Competency, empowerment, and dedication framed the whole-day leadership training that the College of Education Student Government (COEdSG) of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas mounted on September 19 at the Ambrosio and Nadina Capayas Learning Hub and the DLSU-D Senior High School Amphitheater. Banyuhay: The COEd Leadership Training brought student leaders, faculty, and staff together for talks, open forums, and team-building sessions built around the three values.
College of Education Dean Dr. Jose Arvin Gacelo opened the program, joined by speakers Dr. John T. Casidsid of the Religious Education Department, Ms. Cristina M. Padilla, Ms. Relyn S. Antenor-Cruz, and Mr. Reine Cruz.
The afternoon turned to first-hand accounts of leadership and service. Awarded student-leaders Mr. James Phil De Leon, Ms. Rianne S. Abiador, and Dr. Royce A. Salva sat for interviews on what the work had asked of them. Participants then moved to the Senior High School Amphitheater for team-building activities that focused on collaboration and camaraderie.
For the College of Education, the training leaves its student leaders with a shared set of standards for the organizational and community work they carry through the rest of the year.
