As part of the office's commitment in empowering regional languages, the Language Learning Center (LLC) held its fifth installment of the Language Learning Session (LLS), featuring the Ilocano language. The session was spearheaded by Dr. Constantino T. Ballena, a native Ilocano speaker and a faculty of the Languages and Literature Department (LLD). Dr. Ballena introduced basic Ilocano greetings and essential phrases for traveling. Furthermore, Ilocano culture was highlighted and reinforced throughout the session.
Afterward, foreign university students were invited for another installment of Language Learning Session, this time focusing on Filipino. Ms. Ma. Perpetua Amoncio, a Filipino Teacher from the LLD, introduced essential Filipino phrases and words that could assist the students during their stay at the university.
The LLC plans to continue the Language Learning Session with Korean and Japanese languages in the upcoming months.
