Parents and guardians of Basic Education Division students filled the Patriots Covered Court on September 19, Saturday morning, for a recollection that set faith and character — not grades and milestones — as the real measure of raising a child.
The recollection encouraged parents to see parenthood as a vocation, not a set of duties. Against a culture that reads a child's worth in achievements and milestones, it pressed a different standard: that the deeper task of parents is to nurture faith, compassion, integrity, responsibility, and a sense of purpose in the young people entrusted to them.
Parents were reminded of their standing as their children's first teachers, closest examples, and steady companions — accompanying them not only toward their ambitions but toward lives rooted in God, love, and service. The session also invited them to journey as Lasallian parents and guardians guided by the call to Learn, Lead, and Globalize.
For DLSU-D, the recollection drew support from the Parents Association of the Basic Education Division, a partnership the organizers credited for making the event possible and for strengthening the shared work of forming young hearts and building a community rooted in faith, love, and service.
