To kick off the new academic year and realign scholars with institutional and government guidelines, the Center for Admissions and Scholarship (CAS) convened the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) Scholars General Assembly on September 2, 2026, at the Ayuntamiento De Gonzalez (ADG) Hall.
The assembly brought together student beneficiaries from both the Student Financial Aid Grant (SFAG) and the Department of Labor and Employment’s Special Program for Employment of Students (DOLE-SPES).
Ms. Jacquelyn Torres, Associate Director of CAS - Student Recruitment and Scholarship, opened the event, emphasizing the university’s commitment to providing quality Lasallian education through strengthened scholarship programs.
During the orientation segment, Scholarship Officer Dennis Bautista presented a comprehensive review of existing scholarship policies and introduced updated guidelines for the current term. Bautista reminded the attendees to strictly adhere to maintaining academic performance standards and completing their designated service hours, stressing that accountability and excellence remain core expectations for every DLSU-D scholar.
A key segment of the program featured DOLE Regional Office representative and Officer 3 Zhara Martinez, who detailed the updated administrative requirements, payout procedures, and policies governing the SPES program. Martinez reminded the beneficiaries that as DOLE scholars, they are formally recognized as government workforce partners under DOLE Consequently, they are expected to observe professional workplace ethics, punctuality, and compliance throughout their rendering period.
Closing the assembly, CAS Director Dr. Normelyn Cachuela formally introduced the entire team behind the Student Recruitment and Scholarship unit. Dr. Cachuela told the scholars that the entire CAS team will remain steadfast in guiding and supporting them throughout their academic journey at DLSU-D. She urged the student grantees to foster open communication and unity with the department, reminding them that should any challenges, issues, or conflicts arise, they should promptly coordinate directly with the unit for proper assistance and resolution.
The annual general assembly serves as an essential platform for CAS to maintain active communication with its academic grantees, ensuring they remain updated on administrative compliance while supporting their holistic development as Lasallian scholars.
