The Philippine Women's Ice Hockey Team clinched a second-place finish at the IIHF Asia-Oceania Championship held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and Lasallian SHS student Rhianne Hailie Jade Alix, was among the roster of athletes who competed in the tourney.
In a heartfelt letter of gratitude to the University, Rhianne’s father, Harold, thanked DLSU-D and DLSU-D Senior High School for the massive support that the university provided towards his daughter’s athletic journey.
“I am writing to extend my heartfelt gratitude to DLSU-D for the unwavering support extended to my daughter and the Philippine Women's Ice Hockey Team during their recent tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. I am delighted to share the wonderful news that the team clinched the silver medal at the IIHF Asia-Oceania Championship! Once again, thank you for standing behind us every step of the way. We are immensely proud of this achievement and grateful for the support of the DLSU-D community,” said Rhianne’s proud dad.
For his part, DLSU-D SHS Principal Marlon Pareja, also shared his pride at the young Lasallian’s achievement.
“DLSU-D SHS supports and provides avenues for our students to excel in whatever endeavor, field, or activities they want. Our support comes in many ways and shapes. Excellence in our definition is not only confined to grades and honors but in being able to set progressive standards for themselves in whatever endeavor they are doing. We are proud of Rhianne and this major accomplishment with our national team,” he said.
