DLSU-D recently hosted students from National Yuanlin Chungshih Industrial Vocational High School in Taiwan for a cultural exchange program.
The Taiwanese delegates explored Filipino culture through various activities organized by DLSU-D’s Basic Education. On their first day, they toured the Museo De La Salle (MDLS), where they learned about Philippine history and the lives of Filipino ilustrados. They also toured the campus to experience Lasallian culture firsthand.
The students participated in a Baybayin workshop, where they learned the basics of the ancient Filipino script. They also learned how to prepare Halo-halo and the basics of Arnis. On their final day, they enjoyed a meal together and took part in a closing ceremony.
DLSU-D Basic Education Principal Marlon Pareja called these activities an authentic way to connect the cultures of both countries.
“These are exactly the kinds of experiences that shape our students into innovators and leaders of social transformation, in line with the vision of DLSU-D High School,” Pareja said.
While the whole Basic Education Unit called it a celebration of friendship and shared experiences.
“Though their stay has ended, the connections and memories we've made will last a lifetime,” they shared on social media.
This exchange program underscores DLSU-D’s commitment to enhancing internationalization through partnerships and cultural exchanges with institutions worldwide.
