De La Salle University-Dasmariñas has kicked off its three day 2019 Research Week and International Research Conference at the Ugnayang La Salle.
The conference entitled “Faith, Excellence and Service: Responses on the 21st Century Global Research Challenges” was centered on six major themes. The topics, including: Spirituality, Values and Ethics; Culture Arts and History; Academe, Education and Learning; Governance and Community Development; Science, Technology and Innovation; Environment and Health as well as Business, Tourism and Entrepreneurship, sought to provide an avenue to discuss global issues and strengthen academic linkages among the participants.
The event was the first time for DLSU-D to hold an international conference focused on research and served as this year’s highlight of its research week celebration.
University president Br. Gus Boquer, FSC, EdD, in his message, urged participants to build research networks and encouraged an atmosphere of collaboration instead of competition among members of the academe. He also called on researchers to find common topics to explore solutions.
For his part, Cavite Governor Crispin Remulla took a break from the campaign trail to laud DLSU-D’s investment on human capital which has produced some of society’s best leaders. He also encouraged participants to discover more facts that will guide the country’s future through research.
“Sharing knowledge is the most important thing,” he said.
Hon. Cesar E.A. Virata, chairman of the Cavite Historical Society and former Prime Minister of the Philippines delivered the event’s keynote speech while VCAR Dr. Marco Saez shared the University’s vision for the future of Cavite.
