De La Salle University-Dasmarinas invites everyone to join in this countdown to Christmas to reflect on the positive things have happened this year despite the challenges of the pandemic.
The countdown also represents our hope as a Lasallian community, for the better days ahead. Below is a message from our University Chief Administrative Officer, Br. Francisco "Sockie" dela Rosa VI FSC.
Holiday greetings!
This is the season of festive colors, happy tunes, cool breeze, of hams and lechons, of sweet spaghettis and hotdogs and mallows on sticks , of friends laughing , and family gatherings!
We are now at the Advent or “the coming” where we are invited, as John the Baptist would say, to “prepare the way for the Lord.”
And so amidst our laughters and also our pains, may I invite all of you to spend a period of quiet time recalling the Holy Presence of God and becoming aware of how that Presence has touched you. I pray that in your quiet time, you will find the spirit of gratitude in your reflections -- for a year that we have been made safe; for a year that we have been sustained; for a year that is to culminate and still we are all together celebrating almost physically now with those most dear to us. May this spirit of gratitude bring you that profound joy to lead you to touch more lives, especially the poor, the needy, the lowly, and the plain, not only on material things, but most importantly on things that our eyes cannot see but our hearts can feel.
It is Advent. And the countdown begins till Christmas -- a message of hope.
May we find meaning in the little things that we do everyday as we prepare the way for the Lord.
Merry Christmas in advance!
