De La Salle University-Dasmariñas will hold the Lakbay Maria annual Marian devotional practice this October as the month of the Holy Rosary, and in celebration of the feast of the titular Patron of our University Chapel, the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, and Our Lady of the Star, Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools.
This year, Lasallians celebrate with the theme “Mary: Guiding Star of the Lasallian Family, Journeying Together Towards Christ" or “Maria: Talang Gabay ng Pamilyang Lasalyano, Sama Samang Naglalakbay Tungo Kay Kristo” in Filipino.
“As the Church is journeying towards the Synod of Bishops 2023, with the vision of becoming a Synodal Church by growing in communion, participation, and mission, we strongly believe that our Blessed Mother, is our mother and guide as we walk the path of discipleship, and to be molded more and more unto the image of Her Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,” Vice President for Mission and Formation Jose Ritche Bongcaron explained the meaning behind the theme.
Throughout the month, the Lakbay Maria will focus on welcoming the presence of the Blessed Mother through her image by way of "visitation" to the different units, offices, colleges, and departments where the members of the community will offer prayers for their particular needs, intentions, and concerns. It will also be an occasion for the different members of the community to gather in fellowship and to reflect on Mary's role and example in living the Christian way of life.
