Lent offers a meaningful pause in the midst of campus life, inviting Lasallians to reflect, reset, and grow. For members of Campus Peer Ministry (CPM), LAYAG, Lasallian Youth Corps (LYC), the Sports Development Office (SDO), and Bahay Pag-Asa, the season is a time of humility, prayer, and renewal — shaping students to become more compassionate and service-oriented members of the community.
This spirit of transformation is also reflected in the journeys of Complementary Pathways (CPATH) scholars Shafiul Kader Abul Basar (Lio) and Asmatullah Hobir Ahmad (Asmat), Rohingya students from Myanmar rebuilding their futures through education at DLSU-D. Supported by the CPATH Program in partnership with UNHCR and Lasallian organizations, they now pursue their studies in a safe and inclusive academic environment.
For Lio and Asmat, education represents stability and hope after displacement caused by conflict. As Muslim students in a Catholic university, they embody resilience, patient perseverance, and a deep commitment to learning — values that resonate strongly with the Lenten call to sacrifice and renewal.
As the campus moves toward Easter, their stories remind the community that Lent is not only about personal reflection, but about shared responsibility. In humility and hope, Lasallians continue to grow together — beyond the ashes.
