The De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) Cavite Studies Center (CSC), in partnership with the Cavite Historical Society, launched five new history books and convened a historical society meeting at the Reception Hall of the Ayuntamiento de Gonzales, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting Cavite's rich heritage.
The event brought together historians, researchers, educators, and heritage advocates, including DLSU-D Provost Dr. Christian George C. Francisco, former Philippine Prime Minister Cesar Virata, chairman emeritus of the Cavite Historical Society, and Emmanuel F. Calairo, chairman of the Cavite Historical Society and former chair of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
As part of the program, Philip N. A. L. Medina, president of the Silang Historical Society, delivered a lecture emphasizing the vital role of the DLSU-D Cavite Studies Center in advancing historical research and preserving archival records that document Cavite's local history.
A highlight of the event was the launch of five publications that explore different aspects of Cavite's historical, cultural, and political development:
- Hen. Vito Belarmino: Ang Dakilang Anak ng Silang – a collection of articles by members of the Silang Historical Society
- Tuloy ang Buhay: Ang Kabite sa Panahon ng Digmaan (1941–1945) by Gil D. Ramos
- The Political Economy of Development in Cavite: The Industrialization Era (1980s–1990s) by Dr. Jan Phillip D. Mallari
- Castellanes de Cavite: Photo Provincial Administrative History by Dr. Lino L. Dizon
- Riles ng Kasaysayan by Daniel Anciano
Several of the books were developed through research initiatives of the DLSU-D Cavite Studies Center with support from local government units, academic institutions, and university research grants.
Through these publications, the Cavite Studies Center continues to strengthen historical scholarship, preserve documentary heritage, and provide valuable resources for researchers, students, and future generations seeking to understand Cavite's significant role in Philippine history.
