De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) reinforced its commitment to global engagement as it co-hosted the COMICOS-APPRREN International Conference 2026 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, alongside partner institutions from 16 countries.
The international gathering brought together scholars, researchers, and academic leaders under the theme “Enhancing Social Cohesion in Networked Societies.” A total of 246 research submissions were presented, reflecting diverse perspectives on communication, social sciences, and interdisciplinary collaboration in an increasingly connected world.
Representing the university, Dr. Edwin Lineses, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Communication (CLAC), delivered a plenary talk centered on social cohesion. His address underscored the role of communication and social sciences in addressing contemporary societal challenges and highlighted DLSU-D’s leadership in advancing critical scholarship within the region.
Beyond academic presentations, DLSU-D also participated in a high-level Executive Board Meeting held at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. The meeting focused on strengthening institutional partnerships and expanding opportunities for collaborative research initiatives, student exchange programs, and global academic networking.
Through its active involvement in the conference and executive discussions, DLSU-D continues to advance its internationalization efforts. By building bridges across borders and fostering meaningful partnerships, the university affirms its dedication to academic excellence and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
