De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) placed first among Philippine institutions in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and climbed eight places globally to 104th. The University also ranked 53rd in Asia in a field of 2,016 institutions from 110 countries.
The result improves on DLSU-D's 112th-place global finish last year. University President Br. Iñigo Riola FSC shared the rankings in a message to the Lasallian community, crediting the offices and individuals whose work contributed to the University's sustainability initiatives and the preparation of its submission, as well as those who work throughout the year to keep the campus green and sustainable.
"Being number one in the Philippines is both an achievement and a responsibility," said Br. Iñigo Riola FSC, DLSU-D President. "As the country's greenest university, we are challenged to live up to this distinction by continuing to strengthen our sustainability practices and leadership."
Br. Iñigo called on the community to sustain this commitment through daily choices: conserving resources, reducing waste, caring for the University's green spaces, and supporting its sustainability programs. He also expressed hope that DLSU-D's efforts would inspire other schools and communities to deepen their commitment to caring for our common home.
The recognition comes as DLSU-D prepares for its Ruby Jubilee, after nearly forty years of stewardship over its campus, community, and mission. Br. Iñigo described the Jubilee as an invitation to be grateful for what has been built and to renew the University's commitment to caring for what has been entrusted to it for generations to come.
Animo La Salle! 💚🤍
