Dr. Royce Salva, faculty member of the College of Education and the College of Professional and Graduate Studies at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), recently represented the Philippines as one of only two research presenters from the Philippines at the Asia and the Pacific Disability Forum (APDF) Conference 2025 held in Ulsan, South Korea.
Presenting his study titled “Educational Issues of Indigenous Learners with Disabilities: Basis for a Culturally Responsive Special Needs Education Framework,” Dr. Salva joined the parallel session “From Attendance to Meaningful Participation: Advancing the Voice and Equal Participation of Persons with Disabilities.”
The conference, organized by Rehabilitation International Korea and APDF, carried the theme “Breaking Barriers, Building Futures: Towards an Inclusive and Accessible Asia-Pacific for Persons with Disabilities.” It gathered policymakers, disability rights advocates, scholars, and government representatives, including NCDA Executive Director Glenda Relova and OIC Deputy Executive Director Dandy Victa.
Dr. Salva’s participation underscores DLSU-D’s commitment to promoting inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive education in the region.
