In a collaborative effort to ensure the timely and successful completion of the new footbridge at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), officials from the City's Project Management Office conducted a site visit on Thursday, September 11, 2025. They were joined by DLSU-D administrators to assess the progress of the structure, which is fully funded by the City Government.
The project is a significant response to the long-standing safety risks faced by thousands of students, faculty, and residents crossing the busy road in front of the university. By providing a safe, elevated pedestrian pathway, the footbridge directly addresses the urgent need for improved pedestrian safety and welfare.
Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga, along with Vice Mayor Third Barzaga and the City Council, initiated the project to not only advance urban infrastructure but also to make a tangible investment in the well-being of the academic community.
The joint site inspection reflects the strong partnership between the local government and the university. It highlights a common vision of progress that views education, safety, and community development as interconnected priorities. This proactive approach ensures that the final structure will be both functional and a meaningful addition to the city's landscape, paving the way for a more student-friendly and people-centered Dasmariñas.
