Delegates of the La Salle Summer Program/Global Student Leadership Program—from Spain, France, Mexico, Singapore, Brazil, the United States, and the Philippines—have completed their two-week immersion in the Philippines, centered on Lasallian values of faith, service, and global solidarity.
Week One: Community, Reflection, and Culture
The program began with a community engagement activity at Gawad Kalinga in Dasmariñas, facilitated by the Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC). Here, delegates gained firsthand insight into grassroots development through participation in local meetings, educational initiatives, and social outreach.
They also visited Bahay Tuluyan and Bahay Pag-asa Dasmariñas, where they engaged with marginalized youth, reinforcing the values of empathy, justice, and empowerment. A spiritual pilgrimage to Santuario de La Salle at DLSU-Laguna, guided by Mr. Xavier Apostol, deepened their reflection on the Lasallian mission.
The week concluded with a cultural tour, including stops at the Aguinaldo Shrine, National Museum of Fine Arts, and Manila Cathedral, capped with a traditional Filipino dinner at Barbara’s in Intramuros.
Week Two: Civic Engagement and Exchange
This program, hosted by DLSU-D, strengthened the global Lasallian network by fostering cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to faith-driven service.
