Delegates of the La Salle Summer Program/Global Student Leadership Program—from Spain, France, Mexico, Singapore, Brazil, the United States, and the Philippines—have completed the first week of their two-week immersion in the Philippines, centered on Lasallian values of faith, service, and global solidarity.
The program began with a community engagement activity at Gawad Kalinga in Dasmariñas, facilitated by the Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC). Here, delegates gained firsthand insight into grassroots development through participation in local meetings, educational initiatives, and social outreach.
This was followed by a visit to Bahay Tuluyan and Bahay Pag-asa Dasmariñas, where the international students interacted with marginalized youth. These encounters deepened their understanding of local social issues and underscored the importance of empathy, justice, and youth empowerment.
The delegation also embarked on a spiritual journey to Santuario de La Salle at the DLSU-Laguna Campus. Guided by Mr. Xavier Apostol, they paid homage to the relic of St. John Baptist de La Salle, reflecting on the spiritual roots of their shared educational mission.
To end the week, delegates explored Filipino history and culture through visits to the Aguinaldo Shrine, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Manila Cathedral, followed by a traditional Filipino dinner at Barbara’s in Intramuros.
Running until July 19, 2025, the program aims to strengthen the global Lasallian network by promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and a renewed commitment to faith-inspired service.
