After months of preparation to align its educational organization management system (EOMS) with the international standard, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas is now recommended for ISO 21001:2018 certification, heralding a new milestone in its commitment to quality system and good governance.
Last month, the university hurdled the Stage 1 audit as it presented its finalized EOMS manual and other documentation. For Stage 2, the auditors from Bureau Veritas Philippines checked the university’s facilities in a campus tour and also interviewed and audited key persons of the university on top management processes, academic, research and extension services, student services, administrative and support services, resource management processes and oversight processes.
“This has been a challenging journey for all of us, especially with the many initiatives we are all managing simultaneously. However, the experience has been deeply meaningful and filled with valuable lessons,” said Dr. Lucila Calairo, Quality Management representative.
“Achieving ISO 21001 certification is truly a collaborative effort—from top management to all our dedicated personnel. The strong cooperation across all levels has been key to this success. This certification is not only a significant milestone but also reinforces and complements our ongoing quality assurance initiatives,” she added.
For his part, University Provost Dr. Christian George Francisco underscored that the achievement is a validation of the world class standards of the university’s policies and processes.
“The university’s passing of ISO Stage 2 Audit is a validation that our systems and processes are working efficiently and a testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff, faculty, students, and administrators. Truly, this is a win we all championed,” he said.
