The Student Media and Publications Office (SMPO) of De La Salle University–Dasmariñas hosted a webinar titled “Campus Journalism and Press Freedom: Essentials for Today’s Student Journalist” via Microsoft Teams.
The event deepened students’ understanding of ethical reporting, press freedom, and the role of campus journalism in promoting democratic values, featuring insights from Atty. Dennis Maldo of the DLSU-D College of Law and Jelo Ritzhie Mantaring of NewsWatch Plus.
SMPO Director Jemilyn Puchero shared that the webinar guided apprentices to create digital content responsibly and ethically.
“It helped them recognize both the philosophical relevance and the practical responsibility of exercising freedom of expression and of the press within the bounds of the law,” she said.
Through such initiatives, SMPO continues to nurture ethical, responsible, and empowered Lasallian student journalists.
