Student representatives from De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) delivered an impressive performance at the 23rd Economix Global Economic Challenges recently held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Carrying the theme “Navigating Geopolitical Shifts: The Future of Global Cooperation in an Era of Uncertainty,” the international forum hosted by the Faculty of Economics of Universitas Indonesia brought together emerging economists and student leaders from across the globe to engage in critical discussions on global policy and economic cooperation.
Research Team James Johnroy Mabesa and Adrian Pulido, emerged victorious with their “Best Team Presentation” award. Guided by Dr. Alice T. Valerio, their study stood out among international contenders for its clarity, insight, and analytical strength.
The DLSU-D delegation also made its mark in the Model United Nations – United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) segment of the conference. William John Biescas earned the “Most Outstanding Delegate” award for his policy articulation and leadership during deliberations, while Ghaylle Margarrette Dumalag received the “Best Dressed” award, reflecting professionalism and strong diplomatic presence. They were mentored by Dr. Alice T. Valerio and Mr. Romano Angelico T. Ebron.
All student delegates and faculty mentors represent the Allied Business Department of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), further underscoring the college’s active engagement in global academic platforms.
The 23rd Economix once again affirmed the vital role of youth participation in shaping economic and policy discourse. The delegation’s achievements highlight the value of rigorous preparation, committed mentorship, and academic excellence on the international stage.
