De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) and the Order of the Knights of Rizal (KOR) formalized a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), marking a significant step in advancing Rizal-centered education.
The agreement establishes the implementation of certificate programs focused on the life, works, and ideals of José Rizal, aiming to deepen cultural awareness and leadership among learners.
In his opening remarks, University Provost Dr. Christian George Francisco emphasized the enduring relevance of Rizal’s legacy, anchored in culture, heritage, history, and identity. He noted that the initiative is both timely and purposeful, particularly for individuals who will carry forward these values in today’s society.
Meanwhile, KOR Supreme Commander Emmanuel F. Calairo highlighted the importance of uniting two institutions that uphold historical consciousness. He also pointed to the significance of the collaboration as it coincides with milestones such as the 75th anniversary of the Knights of Rizal and the 70th anniversary of the Rizal Law, underscoring the need to keep the Rizalian spirit alive in the modern era.
The MOA was signed by University Provost Dr. Francisco on behalf of DLSU-D and KOR Supreme Commander Calairo for the Knights of Rizal, with Dr. Rommel Mazo, Director of the School of Governance, Public Service, and Corporate Leadership, serving as co-signatory.
More than a formal agreement, the partnership represents a shared commitment to shaping leaders grounded in historical awareness and civic responsibility. Through this collaboration, Rizal’s legacy is actively lived, reinterpreted, and carried forward by a new generation.
