De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) student-athletes displayed exceptional Lasallian spirit at the recently concluded Regional PRISAA Meet, securing a haul of gold medals and championship titles that have earned them numerous slots in the upcoming National competition.
Dynasty on the Court and Sand
The Women’s Basketball team continued their historic reign, clinching their fourth consecutive Regional PRISAA Championship (2023-2026). Under the leadership of Head Coach Andres M. Canlas, the team is now set to pursue a back-to-back national title in Bacolod City.
In volleyball, DLSU-D saw a triumphant return to the top:
- Women’s Volleyball: After finishing as runners-up for three straight years, the team reclaimed the championship for Cavite.
- Women’s Beach Volleyball: The duo successfully defended their regional crown and will now aim for gold on the national stage.
Both volleyball programs are led by Coach Raymond Santos P. Ramirez.
Historic Firsts and Individual Brilliance
The Men’s 3x3 Basketball team made a stunning debut. As first-time qualifiers for the Regional Meet, they defied the odds to bag the gold medal, earning an immediate slot in the PRISAA National competition.
DLSU-D also saw dominant performances in racket sports and board games:
- Badminton: The Men’s and Women’s squads, coached by Roderick J. Hinanay, captured 6 out of the 8 available gold medals.
- Chess: The university secured 5 out of 8 slots for the National Competition, with top performers from both the Men's and Women's divisions.
- Table Tennis: Two athletes from the Men’s team, Reinniel Hope C. Badillo and Justine Theodore A. Loyola, officially qualified for the Nationals.
A Golden Wave in the Pool
The Swimming team delivered perhaps the most staggering performance of the meet. The Men’s and Women’s tankers combined for a massive 50 gold medal, accounting for nearly half of the entire Cavite province’s gold medal count.
The team will try to win the overall championship again in the PRISAA National Competition.
With these victories, the DLSU-D contingent moves forward to the PRISAA National Meet, carrying the pride of the province and a legacy of athletic excellence.
