Students from the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) secured the 2nd Runner-Up award in the Robotics category of the 9th Metals and Engineering Skills Competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) during Metals and Engineering Week (M&E Week) 2026.
Representing DLSU-D were Joselito Sotalbo Cillo Jr., Clint Juson Lopez, and James Jacob Ebon Sabio. Guided by coaches Sandra M. Tirol and Ferdinand G. Osorio, the team demonstrated creativity, technical expertise, and determination as they competed against participants from various institutions.
The competition served as a platform for students and industry practitioners to showcase their skills and explore the latest developments in engineering and technology. It also emphasized the importance of developing a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting the country's growing industrial sector.
For the DLSU-D team, the achievement reflects not only their hard work and dedication but also the University's commitment to nurturing future engineers and innovators who can make meaningful contributions to society through technology.
