The College of Professional and Graduate Studies (CPGS) welcomed two distinguished professors from the University of St. Joseph Macau, Dr. Alessandro Lampo and Prof. Emil Marques, for a series of learning sessions designed to enrich the academic and professional development of graduate students.
Attended by students from the PhD in Educational Management, MA Educational Management, and PhD Counseling programs, the sessions provided valuable insights into emerging technologies, advanced studies, and global academic opportunities.
Dr. Lampo facilitated a discussion on Basic AI Conversation Training, focusing on the responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence in research and academic work. He emphasized the importance of effective prompting and demonstrated how meaningful interactions with AI tools can support learning, productivity, and scholarly inquiry while upholding academic integrity.
Meanwhile, Prof. Marques shared reflections on the PhD journey and introduced academic opportunities available through the University of St. Joseph Macau. His presentation encouraged students to explore international pathways for higher education and engage in global research collaborations.
The visit concluded with an interactive activity where participants applied their AI learning through a Generative AI-powered sales pitch challenge. Students used creativity, strategic thinking, and persuasive communication to develop innovative product concepts and present them to a simulated decision-maker.
The activity highlighted the practical applications of AI in communication, problem-solving, and innovation, reinforcing the importance of emerging technologies in education and professional practice.
