DLSU-D's COVID-19 Response


After over two years of the pandemic, DLSU-D welcomes back its faculty, students and staff back to its beautiful campus. As Lasallians reunite to welcome the Better Normal, the University still remains vigilant in ensuring the health and safety of the community.

This page seeks to serve as an avenue to check DLSU-D's health and safety protocols, advisories, guidelines, news, to maintain a safe learning environment for all Lasallians amid the ongoing transitions brought on by the pandemic.

COVID-19 Safety and Health Administrative Procedures

Following the lifting of the Public Health Emergency due to COVID-19 throughout the country on 21 July 2023, through Proclamation Number 297, DLSU-D releases the new safety and health measures against COVID-19 and related infectious diseases for implementation starting S.Y. 2023-2024. The measures conform to the Department of Health (DOH) Department Circular Number 2023-0324, the updated protocols on Minimum Public Health Standards and other pertinent safety and health standards.


  APPROVED SAFETY AND HEALTH MEASURES AGAINST COVID-19 AND RELATED INFECTIOUS DISEASES FOR S.Y. 2023-2024

The wearing of face mask is only required in the following settings:
  • Inside the Clinic as protection against various biological and health hazards;
  • In Chemistry and Biology laboratories during experiment or research activities as protection from various biological and chemical hazards; and
  • In Food Preparation involving food preparers and servers as standard food safety measure
The wearing of face mask is highly encouraged for immunocompromised individuals and those with co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases.
The wearing of face mask is optional for other settings whether indoors and outdoors but still is encouraged as protection from different airborne infections like common colds, flu, and COVID-19.
For fully vaccinated employees and students who tested positive for COVID-19 either by RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen Test:
  • If asymptomatic or exhibiting mild symptoms, home quarantine for five (5) days and mandatory wearing of face mask for ten (10) days upon return to work or class shall be observed; and
  • If with moderate or severe symptoms, home or hospital quarantine as directed by the attending physician for at least ten (10) days and mandatory wearing of face mask for 10 days upon return to work or class shall be observed.
For partially vaccinated or unvaccinated employees and students who tested positive for COVID-19 either by RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen Test:
  • If asymptomatic or exhibiting mild symptoms, home quarantine for at least seven (7) days and mandatory wearing of face mask for ten (10) days upon return to work or class shall be observed;
  • If with moderate or severe symptoms, home or hospital quarantine for at least ten (10) days but subject to extension as recommended by the attending physician shall be observed. Mandatory wearing of face mask for ten (10) days upon return to work or class shall be imposed; and
For COVID-19 suspect cases, isolation shall be on a case to case basis depending on the professional judgement of the attending physician. Mandatory wearing of face mask for ten (10) days upon return to work or class shall be observed.
An employee or student who experiences any COVID-related symptoms particularly cough, colds, sore throat, headache, fever, and/or loose bowel movement (LBM) should refrain from going to work or class.
An employee or student who experiences any COVID-related symptoms as enumerated in item 1 must Immediately inform the University Health Clinic (UHC) of such symptom(s) through email (univhealthclinic@dlsud.edu.ph) or MS Teams (UNIVERSITY HEALTH CLINIC).
The UHC staff will get in touch with the patient for important health reminders and procedures including the scheduling of teleconsultation if needed.
The patient may also consult his or her preferred physician, online or onsite, for proper diagnosis, advice, and treatment. The results of the consultation done must be communicated to the UHC through the aforementioned channels for proper documentation and monitoring.
Reusable utensils such as plates, glasses, forks, and spoons shall be allowed among canteen concessionaires provided that they observe the proper washing, drying, and storage of these utensils
Reusable spoons and forks must be sterilized by dipping them in hot water with a temperature of 800C or above for at least ten (10) minutes as standard food safety practice.
The use of disposable utensils shall only be allowed for take-out transactions to minimize the generation of waste from canteen concessionaires.
