The College of Liberal Arts and Communication (CLAC) officially launched a capacity building program aimed at strengthening the leadership and organizational skills of local partners.
Entitled “Samahan at Inisyatiba para sa Lakas at Kaunlaran (SILAK) ng Sta. Fe: Kaalaman, Katarungan, Kaligtasan: Kapangayarihan ng Mamamayan,” the event was held at the Barangay Hall of Sta. Fe and gathered barangay representatives for a series of workshops and interactive sessions focused on community development, participatory governance, and sustainable advocacy, particularly on the aspect of peacekeeping and conflict resolution at the grassroots level.
The initiative is part of CLAC’s broader mission to cultivate inclusive and resilient communities through education and collaboration.
“We believe that real change begins at the local level. By equipping our leaders with the right tools and mindset, we’re investing in a future where communities can thrive independently and collectively,” said CLAC Dean Dr. Edwin Lineses.
Participants expressed enthusiasm for the program, citing its relevance to current social challenges and its potential to foster stronger civic engagement. SILAK plans to expand the initiative to neighboring municipalities in the coming months.
