De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) hosted a seminar entitled “Sustainability Practices Towards Disaster Risk Management Amidst Adversity” at the Maria Llanera Exhibit Hall to strengthen community resilience through sustainable practices and disaster preparedness.
Organized in collaboration with Tulong Lasalyano, the Lasallian Institute for the Environment (LIFE), and the Lasallian Justice and Peace Commission (LJPC), the seminar featured a series of expert-led presentations focused on environmental management, campus sustainability, and risk reduction strategies.
Mark Tinao, director of LIFE – De La Salle Philippines, presented data-driven approaches to environmental conservation while Engr. Romeo Bravo Jr. from the DLSU Laguna Sustainability Hub discussed efforts to build eco-friendly campus infrastructure.
Andyo Abusmas, director of the Social Action Unit, shared insights on campus disaster preparedness, while Racy del Rosario provided an overview of the Philippines’ disaster risk profile.
Finally, Gladstone Cuartros, national coordinator of LJPC, explored the role of sustainability in politically challenging contexts.
