The collective efforts of the Lasallian community, led by the College of Architecture, Engineering and Technology (CEAT), the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Buildings and Facilities Management Office, the General Services Office, and the Strategic Communications Office—brought DLSU-D back to the winner’s circle as it secured the 1st Runner-Up award in the Lighted Float Competition of the 2025 Paruparo Festival.
The float’s concept and design, inspired by the “Magical Paruparo” theme, were developed by the Architecture Department and the Graphics Design and Multimedia Department.
Students from MMA batches 21, 22, 23, and 24 under Professors Joan A. Bermundo and Mary Grace M. Virata, collaborated with Interior Architecture students guided by Ar. Joselito Cillo, Ar. Earl Distor, Ar. Nen Jimenez, Ar. Danica Alonzo, and Ar. Paulo Lagrana to bring the structure and design elements to life.
Models from the MMA Mikan Jann Pagdonzolan and Mika Naviza, Architecture student Lei Ylner and Ar. Dianne Lopez added an air of magic to the float as they entertained the crowd during the parade.
College Dean Dr. Natalie Pineda and Associate Dean Scissel Naing also played key roles in strengthening and guiding the team behind this year’s float entry.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sonia Gementiza and Dean Pineda joined the CEAT students on stage as they proudly received the award.
