The Artists’ Reception for the Guhit Cavite Exhibition was recently held at the Retreat and Conference Center of DLSU-D. The event brought together artists, cultural advocates, and members of the Lasallian community in celebration of creativity and heritage.
It was attended by University President, Br. Inigo Riola FSC, EdD, and Vice President for Administrative Services, Br. Fernando Sanding FSC, alongside tourism officers, partner institutions, and participating artists.
In his message, Br. Inigo highlighted the role of art in holistic education and community well-being, while Mr. Jimmy Martinez, Tourism Officer of Dasmariñas, expressed gratitude to DLSU-D for sustaining the city’s cultural vibrancy through creative initiatives.
Adding depth to the program, Ms. Muf Roxas introduced the Urban Sketchers Cavite Chapter and its connection to the global sketching movement. A live sketching session at the RCC garden allowed artists to share their perspectives and celebrate the beauty of their surroundings.
Ms. Mary Ann Salvador, Museo De La Salle Director, closed the program with a reminder that “art is not confined to gallery walls—it thrives in the streets, plazas, churches, and everyday scenes that connect us to place, history, and one another.”
The reception was made possible through the collaboration of the Ancillary and Asset Management Office (AAMO), Museo De La Salle (MDLS) , and Cavite Heritage Sketchers, with support from partner schools, students, and volunteers.
The success of the event affirms the vibrancy of Cavite’s artistic community and its shared commitment to promoting culture, heritage, and dialogue through art.
