Over 300 scholars of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) attended an orientation on the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) and the Student Financial Aid Grant (SFAG) at the Ayuntamiento de Gonzalez Building. The event was organized by the Scholarship Unit under Dr. May Mojica and Mr. Dennis Bautista.
Ms. Anne Marie Faye Marjes-Gloria, Senior Labor and Employment Officer, presented the opportunities under SPES, a program that enables students to “earn while they learn.” Through this initiative, wages are jointly subsidized by the government and employers, giving scholars the chance to support their studies while gaining valuable work experience.
The Scholarship Unit also discussed SFAG policies, covering guidelines on student assistantship, duty hours, and compliance. Both programs were highlighted as avenues for scholars to apply classroom learning in real settings while developing discipline, service, and practical skills.
Messages of support were delivered by Dr. Mary Felidora Florinor M. Amparo, Dr. Maria Nornelyn L. Cachuela, Mr. Julius M. Tibayan, MBA, and Ms. Irene S. Gueco, who emphasized the University’s commitment to empowering students. Through DOLE-SPES and SFAG, DLSU-D continues to provide not only financial assistance but also opportunities that embody the Lasallian values of service and excellence.
