De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), through its Safety, Health and Welfare Office (SHWO), in partnership with the City Government of Dasmariñas, successfully conducted a free anti-rabies vaccination and kapon (neutering) activity for campus cats and pets owned by students, faculty, and staff.
The initiative aimed to promote animal welfare while ensuring a safe and healthy campus environment. As part of the population management program, the City Veterinary Office (CVO) initially allotted 25 slots for the kapon of male campus cats.
In addition, 200 slots were opened for free anti-rabies vaccinations for both campus cats and pets of the university community. To ensure an organized and efficient process, registration for the vaccination was made available prior to the event. Due to the overwhelming response, the City Government of Dasmariñas extended its support by increasing the number of vaccination slots to 250.
The two-hour activity, held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., aligns with the thrust of the Office of the Vice President for Administrative Services (OVPAS) and the General Services Office (GSO) to foster a healthier and safer university environment for both its human and animal populations.
Through initiatives such as this, DLSU-D continues to strengthen its commitment to community engagement, public health, and responsible animal care.
