The De La Salle University–Dasmariñas Psychology Program Council (PPC) marked its annual Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) with a parade and symposium held at Ugnayang La Salle (ULS).
Carrying the theme “Albierto Sikolohiya: Advancing Mental Health in Times of Crisis,” the event emphasized the importance of accessible and culturally grounded mental health support, especially during challenging times.
The program opened with remarks from Philosophy and Psychology Department Chair Loreto Camiloza, followed by expert talks from Usapang Positibo founder Dr. Ronadel Bedia and Shmiley Manalo, who discussed Filipino psychological traits and Psychological First Aid.
Afternoon sessions featured insights from Student Wellness Center Director Agnes Gibas and Pambansang Samahan sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino President Jholyan Francis Fornillos on disaster mental health, alongside Prof. Irah Mari Pallasigui-Watamura, who highlighted the role of Filipino values in crisis response.
The event concluded with an open forum and closing remarks from the College of Liberal Arts Dean Edwin Lineses, reinforcing the university’s commitment to promoting mental health awareness and resilience among students.
