De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) reinforced its global academic partnerships by hosting a faculty delegation from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Thailand. The visit highlighted collaborative efforts in international benchmarking, research exchange, and cross-cultural engagement.
The DLSU-D College of Education (CoEd), led by Dean Dr. Arvin Gacelo, facilitated a benchmarking session with RMUTT’s Early Childhood Education faculty. Discussions centered on aligning pedagogical standards, enhancing curriculum design, and observing classroom practices in local partner schools—strengthening both institutions’ commitment to quality teacher education across the ASEAN region.
As part of the academic exchange, Ms. Narudee Onsri, RMUTT Assistant Dean for International Relations, delivered a keynote lecture titled “Food and Belonging: Comfort, Community, and Gentrification” for graduate students. Her talk examined the intersection of food culture, urban development, and community resilience.
Meanwhile, RMUTT’s Food and Nutrition faculty conducted a culinary masterclass for DLSU-D’s Hospitality Management Department (HMD). Students engaged in hands-on training in authentic Thai cooking techniques, featuring dishes such as Pad Thai, three-color bua loy in coconut milk, and butterfly pea lime soda.
The program concluded with a cultural exchange activity, where faculty and students collaboratively prepared Filipino and Thai dishes. This shared experience celebrated the rich culinary traditions of both countries while fostering deeper academic and cultural connections.
The initiative underscores DLSU-D’s commitment to internationalization, academic excellence, and meaningful global partnerships.
