Faculty and students from DLSU-D joined the 3rd Recoletos International Research Congress held at the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City.
Among those who shared their studies was SHS Director Dr. Mario S. Torres who won Best Research Paper for the Habitats and Settlements Category. His study was entitled Formulation of Biodiversity Conservation Strategies for Mts. Palay-Palay/Mataas-na-Gulod Protected Landscape using the A’WOT Quadrilateral Method.
SHS Asst. Director Marlon Pareja also presented his research entitled: Filipino Food Consumption Pattern and its effect on Water Requirement of the Philippines, while SHS STEM Faculty Ninokay L. Beceril also shared the result of his study: “The University as a Bird Sanctuary: Developing a Living Natural History for Conservation and Education.”
Biological Sciences Department Faculty member Arnold Fonollera represented the College of Science and Computer Studies when he presented his paper on “PANGDANI SA SUBA (Allure of the River) : A Culture Ecotourism Framework for Whitewater Rafting.”
Meanwhile, student researchers from the SHS James Patrick Javier and Yukio Estrella shared the results of their study “A Modelling Study of Current and Future Climatic Suitability of Robusta Coffee (Coffea Canephora) in Amadeo Cavite using Arduino-Based Technology.”
