We received an unverified information circulating a claim that there is COVID-19 infection outbreak in the University.

This claim is false and unwarranted. Furthermore, the intent of the claim clearly fosters chaos. The University takes seriously concerns on COVID-19. Hence, we are taking steps to verify the information and identify the source of the confusion. The source of this misinformation once identified will be dealt with based on our pertinent institutional policies and guidelines.

The University has been consistently instituting health and safety protocol which enjoins comprehension and involvement of all members of the academic community. The University Health and Safety Protocol consistently subscribes to the IATF Guidelines.

Our stringent COVID-19 monitoring mechanisms systematically and procedurally report COVID-19 positives be they students or employees. Once confirmed to be COVID-19 positive, advisement on [quarantine/isolation] procedures is issued to concerned student or employee and the symptomatic close contacts.

While there have been cases reported, such cases are extremely minimal in number. The extent of coverage of these minimal cases is not program-wide nor collegiate-wide.

The University Health Clinic is clearly guided by contemporary tenets on COVID-19 management. It closely monitors such cases and may recommend online classes to specific section only when necessary.

Let us not fall prey to misinformation. Our website provides information on COVID-19 at https://www.dlsud.edu.ph/betternormal/. The University's response to COVID-19 is clearly laid out in the link. Please check on it every once in a while for consistent and precise information and guidelines.

Rest assured that our University strategically undertakes measures according to government standards and regulations on COVID-19. These measures ensure that De La Salle University - Dasmarinas is a safe place for everyone.
