I. Rationale
The DLSU-D Night College is a special scholarship program of the university which targets indigent, working students who are have a strong desire to complete their tertiary education. It was established in 1988 and was originally called the Free Evening Class Scholarship Program under the College of Business
At present, there are 174 students enrolled in eight programs across six different colleges. Most of their employment status are categorized as menial or low paying jobs. Common jobs of the scholars are fast-food service crews, salespersons, janitors, or housemaids, which may not even get the minimum wage rate. This may be the reason why despite being employed, a lot of them are still financially challenged.
Financial difficulty is the most significant factor causing students to halt their schooling. The data below highlights a concerning attrition trend within the DLSU-D Night College over the past two academic years, indicating that despite paying the minimal fees it is still not enough to overcome the overall cost of living and schooling.

*data from the Office of the University Registrar
Based on the initial data, we observe a total attrition of 23 students over the two years presented. Students dropping out of the program represents a significant waste of university resources and, more importantly, a lost opportunity for the scholar. This unacceptable rate of attrition is the impetus from which the DreamKeepers Project is proposed, requiring immediate attention and action.
II. Project Goal and Implementation
Project Vision
The DreamKeepers project is envisioned as a dedicated mechanism to provide targeted, supplementary support to DLSU-D Night College scholars with the utmost need. This support encompasses both financial aid and essential technological/learning resources to prevent them from dropping out of the program due to socio-economic constraints.
