The Biological Sciences Department (BSD) seeks to spearhead research-based studies that will promote science and technology founded on the national development goals and produce academically competent, technically skilled and globally competitive graduates.
The Department values graduates who attain academic excellence in Biology and other sciencerelated fields that will develop a particular skill for innovative creative thinking making them receptive to scientific ideas. It also recognizes the community as a laboratory for learning; the conservation of natural resources; and the virtues of truth, goodness, and beauty as means of bringing man closer to God.
In order to achieve its goals, the Department prepares the students through comprehensive science programs with emphasis on the utilization of educational technologies such as multimedia and other alternative systems.
In all its teaching-learning activities, the Department develops the interest and skills of the students by offering a wide selection of information in Biological Sciences. It likewise motivates the students to participate in community-based activities, to apply theories to actual life situations, to pursue research-oriented projects and to perform satisfactorily in the National Medical Admissions Test.
In this manner, the BSD is a reliable source of academically competent and highly skilled science graduates, living and practicing the life values of St. John Baptist De La Salle.
