De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) conducted an executive dialogue and benchmarking visit at First Aviation Academy (FAA) in Subic Bay, Zambales, on July 8 to explore a potential partnership for a specialized internship program in the aerospace and aviation sector.
The university delegation was led by Dr. Nornelyn Cachuela, Vice President for Global Engagement and External Relations, and included administrators and faculty representatives from the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT), the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM), the Strategic Communications Office (SCO), and the Linkages and Scholarship Office (LSO).
During the visit, the delegation met with FAA officials headed by General Manager Rodolfo Dino Santos. Also present were School Administrator M.Gen. Guillermo Molina, Head of Training Capt. Patrick Moran, Maintenance Manager Isidro Fuertes, Operations Manager Capt. Cassandro Dumayas, and Sales and Marketing Manager for Aviation of PTC Richard Tiglao.
The benchmarking activity included discussions on internship opportunities for Lasallian students and a tour of the academy's training facilities. The delegation also observed a demonstration of FAA's flight simulator to gain an overview of the academy's aviation training systems and instructional processes.
The visit is part of DLSU-D's ongoing efforts to strengthen industry linkages and identify experiential learning opportunities that support the university's academic programs.
