The faculty members of the National Service Training Program-Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) who have diverse backgrounds and various fields of specializations, are called to commit themselves to give importance on the youth participation through developing students community development workers that shall serve as active partners of the institution, of the community, and of the nation in the implementation of the different community development programs, projects and activities, contributory to nation-building and achievement of social transformation focusing on the national security, development and/or welfare in accordance to the Lasallian Guiding Principle of Faith, Zeal and Communion; by utilizing a theory-practicum approach through classroom lectures and discussions, both structural and dynamic learning activities, community exposures, application of the knowledge, skills and attitudes in responding to real-life problems of the community and through establishing networks and linkages within and outside the institution in coordination with Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC).
G-NSTP001 - Pursuant to the goals declared in Republic Act 9163 otherwise known as National Service Training Program Law (NSTP Law), this course introduces students to the importance of civic consciousness through the discussion of nationalism, patriotism, social responsibility, servant leadership and good citizenship values as pertinent concepts in participating in community service. It promotes activities contributory to the general welfare and betterment of life of the members of the community. It also aims to make students realize their vital role in nation building by advancing their involvement in public and civic affairs through awareness and participation in different advocacies and community service activities based on their capabilities. The knowledge and insights gained from this course prepares them in their training for a greater community engagement.
G-NSTP002 - This course familiarizes students in the different concepts of Civic Welfare Services through creating and implementing community service programs/activities which may contribute to the general welfare and betterment of life of the members of the community specifically in health, education, livelihood, pastoral, self-governance, and disaster preparedness. It also integrates the DLSU-D's vision of active participation in the process of social transformation by promoting civic consciousness to the youth.
