Marlon C. Pareja, DLSU-D High School Principal and environmental advocate, has been elected as one of the private sector (NGO) representatives to the National Solid Waste Management Commission (NSWMC) for 2022–2028.
His appointment aligns with RA 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, and RA 11890, the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Act of 2022.
The NSWMC is tasked with implementing the National Solid Waste Management Program, which covers policy development, technical support for LGUs, compliance monitoring, and public participation.
Elected by the EcoWaste Coalition in 2022, Pareja was recognized for his integrity, professionalism, and strong record in environmental research and advocacy.
This appointment highlights not only his individual contributions but also the University’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
