February 2: World Wetlands Day

The United Nations marked February 2 as World Wetlands Day to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on the same day in 1971.


March 3: World Wildlife Day

The United Nations proclaimed March 3 as World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants.


March 21: International Day of the Forests

On this day, member nations are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns.


April 22: Earth Day

De La Salle University-Dasmarinas joins nations in celebrating Earth Day on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.


June 25: Arbor Day

In the Philippines, Filipinos celebrate this event on June 25th wherein projects and activities are targeted towards planting trees and ornamental plants as well as driving awareness on its importance to the environment.


Plastic Free July

As part of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas’ University Environment Policy, single-use plastics and straws have been banned from campus to prevent the generation of non-biodegradable waste that later pollutes the ocean and endangers marine wildlife.


Third Saturday of September: World Cleanup Day

World Cleanup Day is observed every third Saturday of September and seeks to raise awareness over mismanaged waste and encourages people to take action by holding clean-up activities.


November 1: World Vegan Day

Apart from promoting kindness to animals by going meatless, World Vegan Day also promotes sustainability as fewer animal products means fewer greenhouse gases produced.


December 5: World Soil Day

World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on December 5th as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources.
