LCDC to Hold Environmental Forum on May 9

LCDC to Hold Environmental Forum on May 9

The Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC), in partnership with the Lasallian Institute for the Environment, will host Makakalikasang Talakayan, an environmental forum, on May 9, 2025 (Friday), from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN at Ugnayang La Salle.

With the theme “Pag-asa at Aksyon: Sama-samang Hakbang para sa Kalikasan”, the forum aligns with key May environmental observances: Laudato Si’ Week (May 24–31), the Month of the Ocean, and the International Day for Biological Diversity (May 22).

The program will feature two plenary sessions:

  • Climate Change 101: Response of the Business Sector
  • Agnes De Jesus, Chief Sustainability Officer, First Philippine Holdings and Energy Development Corporation

  • Nature-based Solutions for Climate Action
  • Dr. Romeo Montemayor, Executive Director, Foundation of the Philippine Environment


Breakout sessions include:

  • Lasallian Response to Climate Change: The La Salle Botanical Gardens
  • Jesiree Ann Bibar, National Coordinator, La Salle Botanical Gardens

  • Understanding Carrying Capacity for Sustainable Projects
  • Christian Cuevas, National Coordinator, Lasallian Institute for the Environment

  • The Role of Sustainable Tourism in the Philippines’ Climate Agenda
  • Dr. Eylla Laire Gutierrez, Associate Director, Dr. Andrew Tan Center for Tourism, Asian Institute of Management


This initiative underscores LCDC’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness within the university.
