CSO Leads Tree Trimming for Safer, Greener Campus
September 29, 2025 | By ALLYSA AREGLO
The Campus Sustainability Office (CSO), in partnership with JSA Inc., recently launched a tree trimming and pruning initiative at the university lane to promote safety, resilience, and sustainability.
Aligned with Laudato Si and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the program supports SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). It also forms part of the university’s storm preparedness efforts.
According to CSO, pruning helps strengthen trees against storm damage, prevent hazards, reduce diseases, and support biodiversity. JSA Inc., a landscape development company established in 1997, provides professional tree care and maintenance services to DLSU-D and other institutions.
The Office of Administrative Services noted that proper trimming ensures safety while fostering a balanced and sustainable campus environment.
