Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in Accountancy in general, and in Public Accounting in particular. Further, the program complies with the latest competency framework for professional accountants issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) through the International Education Standards (IES). Thus, completion of the program qualifies the graduate to take assessments leading to certifications in Accountancy given by the Professional Regulatory Commission – Board of Accountancy (PRC-BOA) and other global professional Accountancy organizations. As a field of study, Accountancy is a profession that primarily involves providing assurance and audit services for statutory financial reporting, tax related services and management advisory services. The Lasallian BSA program provides a foundation of professional knowledge, professional skills, and professional values, ethics and attitudes while upholding the Lasallian values of faith, zeal for service and communion in mission. These capabilities should enable the future professional accountants to keep up with international accounting and auditing standards, including other developments in the field, apply professional skepticism, exercise professional judgment, and act in an ethical manner that is in the public interest – at all times.
