EXTENSION PARTNERS AND SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMS
The Physical Education Department (PED) works with the extension office of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, the Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC), which leads and supports programs that help communities in a sustainable, inclusive, and meaningful way. Through this partnership, PED brings sports and fitness programs to various communities. It promotes active and healthy lifestyles by teaching basic sports skills, organizing physical activities, and supporting wellness programs. These efforts strengthen community involvement and give faculty the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills beyond the classroom.
In addition, PED supports the DLSU-D Night College, an established scholarship program that aims to provide educational opportunities to deserving individuals, especially working students and members of underprivileged communities, in helping them earn a college degree. Faculty volunteering in Night College classes reflects PED’s commitment to inclusive education, service, and transformation. Through their involvement, faculty members help fulfill the university's mission of touching hearts, teaching minds, and transforming lives by applying physical education principles to uplift and empower learners
LOCAL AND GLOBAL PARTNERS
The Physical Education Department (PED) continues to build partnerships with various local organizations and communities to promote physical activity, sports development, and wellness. These collaborations allow PED to extend its programs and share its expertise beyond the university. While most partnerships are currently local, the department also encourages faculty to engage with professional organizations and explore international opportunities that support academic growth, research, and global best practices in physical education
