National Conference on Values and Religious Education

De La Salle University - Dasmariñas is all set to host the 2nd National Conference on Values and Religious Education at the Salrial Hall from February 1 - 3, 2019. The conference theme will focus on "Religious and Values Educators: Facilitators of Learning and Social Transformation in the Philippine Society."

Values formation is an integral component in the proper growth and development of any society. For this reason, the Philippine government, through the DEPED and CHED, has been taking serious actions to integrate values formation in all the strata of educational system by updating and improving the existing programs and curricula and promoting activities that are geared towards values formation.

Consequently, it is imperative that educators, researchers, and other education practitioners discuss and share among themselves the current trends, challenges, practices, programs, and research outputs that could help improve the values formation programs in our country. It is, therefore, the main objective of this conference to provide a venue for such discussion. It hopes to be a catalyst for significant developments in this area by gathering together scholars and educators alike who can share their best practices, experiences, and research outputs in the area of values formation.

This conference also aims to provide a particular emphasis on religious education as a potent factor towards values formation in many schools in our country, specifically, in many private schools. It acknowledges the need to continuously examine and enhance the significant contribution of religious education both in the spiritual and values formation of the young.

  • Provide a forum for educators, researchers and values and religion teachers to discuss current issues relevant to values and religious education.
  • Provide an opportunity for teachers to learn about emerging concepts that can enrich the field of religion and values education in general.
  • Serve as a venue for research presentations and promotion of collaboration and linkages among the participants.
  • Facilitate discussions and sharing in current practices and trends in teaching values and religious education and inspire participants to learn and apply innovative methods in their teaching.
